2019 has been another fantastic year for us here at CKH. Join us for a whistle-stop tour of the last twelve months.
On the first day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… ONE year at Customer Central!
Yes, it is hard to believe, but this summer CKH Customer Central celebrated its first birthday. In our first year we have handled more than 13,000 enquiries through our Bridge Street home – helping people with rent and housing queries, to find the support they need through our care and LifeLine services, as well as to receive help to find work.
CKH Customer Central will be open throughout the Christmas period, only closing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, so customers can still pop in and get the support they need from our friendly team. Find out more about our opening times here.
On the second day of Christmas CKH sent to me… TWO extra care schemes!
Our award winning extra care schemes offer a new way of living for the over 55s. With a great community vibe and all the care and support you need, Lapwing Apartments and Kingfisher Court are the perfect solutions for people looking for independence and peace of mind in their retirement.
For those who don’t need a care team on site, but would still like a bit of support, along with a social scene and their own front door, any one of our 26 retirement living schemes could perfect.
For those who want to stay in their own home but need some help with day to day living – we’ve got that covered too, with our Community Care service.
See all our support at home options here.
On the third day of Christmas CKH sent to me… THREE Community Hubs
Since we opened our third community hub last December - our Health and Wellbeing Hub in Welland - we are now offering even more services right into the heart of our communities, where people need them! From employability training and IT skills to parenting support and Brownies, we have it all - we can even help people to lose weight and get fit!
Check out what’s on at our hubs here. Click on the dots on the calendar to see all the great events and courses!
On the fourth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… FOUR editions of Keylines a year!
Keylines is our tenants' magazine, letting them know everything that’s going on with CKH, along with handy hints and tips and lifestyle columns. And what’s more, it’s completely free of charge to all CKH tenants!
To be more green, and to provide a more interactive magazine, we are sending our more copies by email than ever before – check out December’s online edition here.
On the fourth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… FOUR and a half out of five for customer satisfaction!
This is our extra cheeky one! Since we introduced instant feedback via text, our customers have rated us at 4.5 out of 5 for satisfaction! This is great news and shows we are getting it right. We are reading every bit of feedback, and working to put right the things customers are not so happy with.
On the fifth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… five in a family in our new look Redpoll Place!
Our regeneration of Redpoll Place is changing lives, giving families a great place to live, with improved security, a manager to provide support and all the activities available at the South Bretton Family and Community Centre. It’s also been shortlisted for two national awards!
On the sixth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… SIX – no SIX THOUSAND – logins on MyCKH each month!
Yes, that’s right, on average we are having 6,000 logins on our MyCKH each month. MyCKH gives tenants and leaseholders a really easy way to keep an eye on their rent account, pay their rent, report repairs and much, much more.
On the seventh day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… SEVEN ways to pay my rent!
We want to make it as simple as possible for our tenants to pay their rent, and so we have a huge choice of ways to pay. From a regular direct debit to online at MyCKH, over the phone to in person at CKH Customer Central, there is a way that will work for everyone. Find out all the ways to pay here.
We also have support available to anyone who is struggling to pay. Call our Income Management team on 01733 396483
On the eighth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… EIGHT tall ships sailing!
Once again this summer we gave 80 Peterborough youngsters a once in a lifetime opportunity to take to the high seas on a voyage with the Tall Ships Youth Trust.
As well as learning to sail, the young people are fully integrated into the crew and are responsible for running the vessels 24/7, which includes learning to navigate and read charts, as well as assisting in the galley and helping to maintain the ships themselves.
The experience helps the young people to gain in confidence and learn new life skills as well as experience activities and offers a huge boost to their self-esteem. It also teaches them teamwork, co-operation, and leadership, leaving them with the confidence and willingness to take on new responsibilities and overcome challenges. And more importantly, they all leave with huge smiles on their faces!
On the ninth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… NINE awards given out!
Every year we celebrate the achievements of our wonderful tenants. We want to thank those who go above and beyond for their neighbours and community, and say a huge well done to those who have achieved what they might have previously thought impossible.
Our recent awards ceremony was one of our best ever, and we gave out nine awards, from young achiever to volunteer of the year.
On the tenth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… TEN local authority areas – where we are building!
We are growing and moving into new areas all the time. We are now building homes in ten local authority areas. Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, South Holland, Huntingdonshire and Peterborough to name but a few. That’s 919 homes currently being built and over 950 more in the pipeline!
We are building homes for rent and shared ownership, because we believe everyone should have an affordable place to call home.
On the eleventh day of Christmas, CKH gave to me… ELEVEN calls to LifeLine every 15 minutes!
Our LifeLine Control Centre answers an average of 11 calls every 15 minutes, providing an amazing service to elderly and vulnerable people who just need the peace of mind that comes with knowing help is just a push of a button away.
On the twelfth day of Christmas, CKH gave to me... TWELVE months of getting Streets Ahead
Last December we announced our Streets Ahead project through Keylines. We have looked at every aspect of our Neighbourhood Management service and our approach has changed, with our Neighbourhood Managers working much more out in our communities, focusing on the tenants who need more support or where we have concerns about a tenancy.
We've been spending money to improve communal areas and the appearance of our estates and blocks to make sure they are all safe, neat and tidy. For tenants who need extra support, we’ll help to signpost them to the agencies that can help them the most. Along with the support available, we will also be taking a tough stance on people who aren't managing their tenancies, and this year we have really been getting to grips with the problem of sub-letting - cracking down on those making a profit at the expense of those most in need of social housing.
