At CKH we are committed to giving young people a great start in their career and in 2019 this was recognised at the Peterborough Telegraph Apprenticeship Awards, where we won the Diversity and Inclusion category.
Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said of the award: “Inspiring the next generation is key to our business, both in our community investment work and the make-up of our workforce. We are exceptionally proud of the achievements of all of our apprentices and pre-apprentices. As an organisation, we have the privilege of working and delivering services in one of the most diverse cities and regions in the country. Equality, diversity and inclusion is integral to our company ethos and is reflected throughout our activities, including our work with young people. It really is an honour to be recognised for this in these awards, where we were up against so many large, national companies who are based in Peterborough.”
We are proud to say we have a heritage of offering apprenticeships across all areas of the business including care, development and customer services. Nineteen apprentices have successfully completed placements with us and we currently have four completing their NVQs at the moment. We also offer pre-apprenticeships which give young people who need that extra little support, six months paid work experience in a job that can provide them a chance to progress into further training. We have our new batch of pre-apprentices joining the team at the end of February and we cannot wait to help them begin their journey.
